The 4 Step Skin Care Routine

I’m not going to lie to you, here. I have NOT been taking care of my skin. Since becoming a mom last year and turning 30 this year, I’ve begun to reevaluate how I treat my skin. While I’ve always slapped on a lotion after I shower, I really had no skin care routine. In the interest of not appearing far older than I actually am, I’ve decided it’s time to get my act together! I might be trying to treat my skin better, but I might also be super afraid that my children are going to cause me to age 20 times faster than I had ever hoped for (kidding…maybe).

Since I know myself pretty well, I’m positive that a super intensive, super expensive, 10 step process is not something I will keep up with. Not only because there is not enough time in my day, but also because I’m kind of a no-fuss personality. Thanks to St. Ives, Ponds, Noxzema, and Simple Skin Care, I’ve found a fast, easy routine to do everyday. I know that I’m not the only one out there looking for simplicity, yet effectiveness, so, I thought I’d share what I’ve been using. These are ALL affordable options that can be found at your local Walmart! Check it out!

1. Start each day with Noxzema® Classic Clean Cream

Let me admit, I used to never wash my face in the morning. My skin can get pretty dry and I feared getting flaky, so I only washed at night. Since I upped my moisturizer game though, I’ve been able to use this in the morning and it feels wonderful! Noxzema Classic Clean is dermatologist tested, and allows me to deep clean, without over-drying. It removes oil, dirt, and makeup (because sometimes you accidentally fall asleep with that mess!), and is made of eucalyptus, soybean, and linseed oils. My favorite thing about this cream is that it gives an invigorating tingle to wake me up!

2. BONUS! Exfoliate with St. Ives® Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub

Ladies! This only needs to be done 3 times per week, meaning that these 4 steps, are really only 3 steps for more than half of the week! Made with 100% natural exfoliants (walnut shell powder, anyone?) and apricot fruit extract, this stuff makes my skin feel like a dream. If you hate super soft skin that glows like a sunny day, then you probably don’t want this

3. Moisturize that fresh skin with Ponds® Dry Skin Cream

I mentioned that my skin can get pretty dry. Since I used to kind of neglect skin care, I was lazy hadn’t ventured into trying many moisturizers. I am SO glad I gave Ponds Dry Skin Cream a chance though. It’s hypoallergenic, great for sensitive skin, and while it’s super creamy, it doesn’t clog pores. Occasionally, I use this twice a day and my skin still doesn’t become greasy!

4. When your day is done, wipe it away with Simple® Cleansing Facial Wipes

Guys, this is hands down my favorite product out of all of these. I’ve been using it to end my day and remove my make up (it gets waterproof mascara off easily!), but also in the middle of the day if I’m getting sweaty. The package is handy and resealable with Aqua-Lock™ technology, meaning that every last wipe stays fresh! It’s so easy to toss it in your car console to stay fresh on the go, or clean yourself up a little after the gym. The BEST part about Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes is that they have no artificial perfume, color, or harsh chemicals! My sometimes dry, sometimes rashy skin can handle these without a hitch.

That’s all folks!

Seriously, just 4 steps, sometimes 3! Now, I can no longer make any excuses for not taking great care of my skin. It’s easy, inexpensive, and all works for my skin type. If you’re interested, run out to your local Walmart, ASAP! I’ve included photos of where to find them within the store, because I think you’re awesome, and I also can’t stand looking for things (who has the time?). Hint: They were all in the same aisle!

If you have used any of these items, I would love to hear how they worked for you. If not, then tell me about your own skin care routine in the comments!

    • Oh yes, I definitely don’t use the scrub every day, I’m scared, haha! The wipes are great, I recommend just having them on hand and definitely when traveling!

    • Yes! No time for anything crazy! And about the mirror, thank you! I posted a DIY about the mirror a few posts back!

  1. I need good skin routine, like bad! My grandmother has been using Noxema forever..she is still using it today at the age of 80! It is about time I add it to my skincare regime ❤️

  2. I love that your products of choice are really affordable. I’m actually inclined to try them if I don’t have to sell my first born child to get soft skin. 🙂

    • Yes! If you click any of the links, it’ll take you to the Walmart site and you’ll see that everything together is about $15!

  3. I love how simple this is. I’ve always had skin that I needed to take care of… I was never the girl with great skin that did nothing! Haha. Finding a regimen that works for you is the perfect way to do it!

  5. I love simple routines like this! I have a similar nighttime routine, and the minute I started doing it consistently every night, I could immediately tell a difference! It’s so important to take care of your skin- the earlier the better. 🙂
